Amari 2461

My Mother in law had a beautiful collection of Amari dishes, the pattern was a gorgeously patterned cobalt blue and red round plate with generous amounts of gold in the Traditional Imari pattern (2451). The design was popular around 1910 and collected by my husband’s grandmother. It was manufactured by England’s Royal Crown Derby, manufacturers of fine porcelain.

The quilt was made for my husband’s mother when she was in her late 80’s. When it was completed it comforted her by reminding her of her mother and of her childhood in Toronto in 1930’s.

The pattern was transferred using a photo quilt printing process.
